FRENCHMAN LAKE: Many good reports from lake fishermen this past weekend. The size of the rainbows is averaging 14-18 inches. Joe Chavez and Bryant Giesey from Reno caught nine fish using rainbow Powerbait and worms while bank fishing. Frenchman Lake streams are running steady.

North State Fishing Report

Sacramento River (Lower) The flow is up to 9,000 cfs, a gain of 2,000 since last week. Fishing has been slower above Redding but it's best from Bonneyview downstream.

Fishing Line: 05/10/12

AMERICAN RIVER-Flows started to drop back, to 6,000 cfs over the weekend, as Folsom reached the full mark, and flows are likely to drop more in the upcoming days and weeks.

Catching a 30-pound chinook in Puget Sound often will give you bragging rights with your fishing buddies. If you land such a fish during next year’s Roche Harbor Salmon Derby, it could be worth a lot more.
